Operation “Sweet” heart™ currently serves approximately 2,250 residents of nursing homes and rehabilitation centers throughout Hampton Roads and Eastern North Carolina. Monthly visits are made and friendship relations are established through 1 to 1 visitations with residents. These residents range in age from 49 – 89. When required, we will document each visit and provide the activity director with a written report. This service benefits the facility because it helps to show which residents have been visited and how they reacted.
We have also provided a computer system for Riverside Convalescent Center-Hampton for residents use, redid the outside patio area with complete landscaping for Sentara Nursing Center-Chesapeake, yearly sponsorships such as "Watermelon Social", serving Thanksgiving dinner, “Sweet” heart™ gift bags and yearly cash donations to purchase Christmas gifts for the residents.

Each bag costs $25. This cost includes contents, screen printed bag and delivery.
For most of us, we take these things for granted, but for these residents who sometimes never see nor hear from a family member during their stay, it means the world to them that someone is thinking about them and cares enough to show it.
$56,250 would help us meet our yearly cost to provide each resident with a “Sweet” heart™ bag on their birthday. $4,500 would provide each facility with five watermelon socials per year.
